November 2nd, 2004 – Dutch filmmaker Theo Van Gogh, the 47 year old great- grandnephew of the famous artist Vincent Van Gogh, was shot to death by a 26 year old Muslim named Mohammed Bouyeri. Bouyeri commited this savage act because he was outraged over Van Gogh’s film Submission, which was critical of Islam’s outdated, sexist and oppressive attitudes toward women. When Mohammed was sentenced to life in prison for his repulsive attack on freedom of speech and the taking of another human being’s life he replied that he would do it again.
The film Submission was made in cooperation with the female liberal Dutch politician Ayaan Hirsi Ali, herself a former Muslim who often speaks out about Islam’s treatment of women. She now lives under constant protection because of the death threats she receives from sexist, violent, Muslim religious nuts. Her book The Caged Virgin: An Emancipation Proclamation For Women And Islam, is a terrific read. The next time you hear bloated, comfortable Western celebrities pretending to be “courageous filmmakers and/or authors” think of Theo and Ayaan and remember what REAL courage involves.

So glad to see this get some attention. These two are genuine heroes.
I know what you mean! People try to act real tough by standing up to Christian loonies but they crawl like cowards when it comes to Muslim loonies.
