LINCOLN, IL The Lincoln Christian University Red Lions Men’s Basketball team registered their fifth straight victory with an overtime defeat of Moody Bible Institute 72-61 Tuesday evening. The 12-4 Red Lions scored 18 points in the overtime after only scoring 24 in the second half.
Starting the game trailing 2-15 with 13:30 to play the Red Lions went on a scoring surge to take a 24-22 lead with 5:39 to go and ended the half with a 30-28 lead . Outscored 24-26 in the second period the game went into overtime tied 54-54.
The Red Lions were led by Chris Lawson with 31 points, 15 coming on five three pointers. Kyle Rust added 12 points and Troy Lane 10. Outrebounded 63-54 LCU’s Rust was able capture 16 to lead the team.
