Women’s Basketball – The Lady Reiver’s now 14-1 moved into the NJCAA Poll ranked #23 in the nation. The Reiver’s topped Three Rivers (MO) last week 68-52. The game for Saturday night was cancelled by the visiting team due to weather. The ladies play at home on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. vs. Concordia College and play on the road on Saturday vs. Missouri conference rival # 7 (12-1) Jefferson College.
Men’s Basketball – The men have won their last six games; up this week for the Reivers are two home games. The Reiver’s host St. John’s Northwestern (WI) on Tuesday and conference foe Marshalltown on Saturday both games tip-off at 7:00 p.m.
IowaWestern Cheerleaders- Don’t miss Tuesday’s half-time of the men’s game as the Reiver Cheer Team will be performing their National Competition routine before departing for the Universal Cheer Association National Competition held in Orlando, FL.
Indoor Track – The Reiver’s traveled to the Bill Easton Classic at the University of Kansas this Saturday and decided to turn some heads upon arriving.
In the first event for the men, Isaiah Samoei led strong the whole race of the 3000m, and earned a spot to the National Championships, with an 8:44.14. Not long after, Catrell Butler ran the 60m high hurdles and posted an IWCC record with an 8.38, just missing the national mark by .07 seconds. Shennae Steele put up the third best time at the meet (7.74) in the 60m, which was enough for another IWCC record and trip to nationals.
In the 600m run, Nicolia Edwards and Banjo Jaiyesimi set new benchmarks for IWCC with a 1:31.85 and a 1:12.33. Troy Jones followed Jaiyesimi very closely with a 1:14.59, and all three marks were enough to secure spots in the national championships.
Rounding out the national qualifiers for this week is the women’s Distance Medley Relay, which posted a 13:34.14, and featured Zenah Chepkwony, Janesha McGnee, Jenny Wichert, and Kaylee Fly.
