LOS ANGELES – Hillary Williamson racked up a season-high 20 kills and finished with 13 digs, leading the UC San Diego women’s volleyball team to a 3-2 victory over Cal State L.A. in California Collegiate Athletic Association play on Saturday night at the Eagles Nest.
The Golden Eagles built a quick 2-0 lead, but the Tritons would storm back to win the final three sets and spoil Cal State L.A.’s Senior Night festivities, 15-25, 21-25, 25-14, 25-23, 15-12.
UCSD, which extended its current winning streak to 10 in a row, improves to 17-7 overall and 14-6 in the CCAA, keeping pace with Cal State East Bay for second place in the league standings. The Pioneers, who are also 14-6 in conference play, defeated Cal State Dominguez Hills 3-1 on Saturday after losing to the Golden Eagles in straight sets on Friday.
