AIKEN, S.C.- After a solid showing at the Pacer Invitational this past weekend on the campus of the University of South Carolina-Aiken, two members of the Sailfish volleyball team were honored with selections to the All-Tournament Team. Finishing with a 2-2 record versus the collective four opponents, all from the Peachbelt Conference, senior Jennifer Eldridge and junior Jessica Way, were honored as All-Tournament selections.
Now 17-7 on the season, the Fish tied for the most selections to the All-Tournament team with the host-Pacers and King College who also had two players chosen.
The Sailfish opened the tournament on Friday with a thrilling 3-2 win over Francis Marion University where the Fish stormed back from a 0-2 deficit. Up next came a more comfortable final score of 3-0 but still a very challenging opponent in the University of Pembroke.
Although the Blue and White would narrowly fall 3-2 to Augusta State University on Saturday morning and then again to the University of Montevallo, the tandem of Eldridge and Way obviously turned some heads with their play as they were both named to the grouping.
