Syracuse head basketball coach Jim Boeheim whooped it up at his press conference addressing the child molestation accusations involving his former assistant coach Bernie Fine. Oddly for a man who had defiantly called the accusers liars who were out for money, Boeheim seems incapable of acting humble following the recent release of the audio taped evidence regarding the allegations. He also seems incapable of betraying any hint of humanity in his demeanor since he seemed to feel the press conference was like Open Mike Night or something. Jolly Jimbo may have outdone even alleged pedophile enabler Joe Paterno in the “acting like a callous jerk” category. I guess as long as it’s other people’s children allegedly being molested Boeheim sees no reason to treat the subject seriously. By the way, it’s not at all true that Continue reading

With each passing day more and more revelations come out about the Jerry Sandusky/ Joe Paterno scandal at Penn State. The culture of silence allegedly overseen by Paterno might put you in mind of a petty and selfish little man exerting far more influence than he should have been permitted to wield. The picture emerging is of a football coach often at war with administrators at Penn State who tried to keep him and his football program in line. As I’ve written many times already that part is nothing new, but the allegations of multiple child rape are making many people sit up and take notice of the festering dung pile that IS NCAA Division 1 football.
Until now the Miami Hurricanes have represented everything slimy and corrupt about Division 1 football, but Joe Paterno’s Nittany Lions fiefdom is rapidly surpassing them in the realm of sludge and savage treatment of others.
Some of the latest allegations involve the alleged pedophile enabler’s players forcing their way into a residence and physically assaulting several Penn State students as well as another player charged with sexual assault on a Continue reading
In a move guaranteed to make him beloved by every prosecutor in the country Jerry Sandusky’s defense attorney Joe Amendola permitted his client, an alleged child rapist, to speak by phone in an interview with Bob Costas last night. It’s a shame Eugene Ionesco didn’t live to see it, but then even he probably wouldn’t have believed it.
I have no idea what Amendola was thinking with this move. Was he saying to himself “Once America hears the creepy, halting way my client speaks, just like the guy in those Killer Nerd movies, they’ll take him to their hearts.” After the interview did he flash a confident grin, give Sandusky a big thumbs up and say “NAILED it!”
But America has one thing to thank the alleged rapist of multiple children for. For decades most of us have been puzzled by the meaning of those stern “No Horseplay” signs around public pools. Now, thanks to Sandusky, we all finally understand that “horseplay” means elderly men showering with little boys, touching their legs, squeezing them and sliding around on the floor with them. Eeeww! Now I see why they didn’t want that kind of behavior around their facilities. That sort of thing would gross out and induce vomiting in everyone … except, apparently, Sandusky and his attorney.
Is there something here we’re all missing? Does Amendola believe that Continue reading
Joe Paterno continues to pompously think he should get to go out on his own terms. His announcement that he will retire at the end of the season is appalling considering the fact that Penn State officials who have allegedly been neglecting the child rape situation for MUCH LESS TIME THAN PATERNO is alleged to have been neglecting it are out the door. If “Coach” Paterno wanted a baseball style tour of the parks he could have had it years ago by retiring then. For anyone to waste a nanosecond of their time worrying about whether “Mr Inaction” deserves to go out on his own terms is unbelievable, even for the sports publicists who work for ESPN. (They’re not reporters. They’re publicists. Yahoosports and Sports Illustrated have reporters, not ESPN in my opinion)
If Joe “Alleged Pedophile Enabler” Paterno was simply gone from the school as of today, voluntarily or not, I wouldn’t even be doing another Paterno post. But if Joe insists on lingering, I think he deserves to be treated at least as roughly as he would have treated a player who kept missing their blocking assignments. And the Joe Paterno we’ve seen from these allegations certainly would have done more to correct the mechanics of an errant player than he did to intervene in alleged child rape incidents.
WHY DIDN’T YOU CALL THE POLICE, PATERNO? That is the only question that needs asked at this point. If Paterno is the least bit sincere that this Jerry Sandusky situation is “one of the great sorrows of his life” and in hindsight he “wishes he had done more”, well, he had plenty of years to do more. Pretty odd that it wasn’t until all this became public that “Coach” Paterno suddenly regrets Continue reading
Never let it be said that when it comes to allegations of child rape that Joe Paterno doesn’t allegedly do the absolute bare minimum he’s legally required to do. Today we see that Penn State is still putting Joe Paterno above the alleged child rape victims. Exactly why Paterno wasn’t simply escorted off campus for good while the investigation continues is pretty puzzling, especially since he wears no headset, carries no clipboard and generally does nothing on game day except wander the sidelines looking like a clueless lawn gnome in eyeglasses. Well, except for those times when he sits up in the booth looking like a clueless lawn gnome in eyeglasses.
Many of my readers are Continue reading
