NAIA DIVISION ONE

LCSC Logo - Primary FullDOWN GOES NUMBER TWO – The 18th ranked LEWIS-CLARK STATE WARRIORS welcomed the number 2 team in the nation – the CARROLL (MT) COLLEGE FIGHTING SAINTS. The Warriors had the Fighting Saints worried at Halftime with their 35-26 lead, then continued suffocating them with solid defense in the 2nd Half for a 70-55 victory. Dana Abe tossed in 16 points to lead Lewis-Clark State.

Westmont College WarriorsAND NUMBER FOUR CAME TUMBLING AFTER – Meanwhile the WESTMONT COLLEGE WARRIORS (Should be the Guardians) took the court against their guests, the country’s number 4 VANGUARD UNIVERSITY LIONS. A 34-34 tie at the break served to put the Lions on Upset Alert, followed by the Warriors consummating the deal with a 75-70 triumph. Olisa Nwachie led Westmont College with 19 points.

MidAmerica Christian U EvangelsOTHER UPSETS IN THE TOP TWENTY-FIVE – The MID-AMERICA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY EVANGELS toppled the visiting (12) LANGSTON UNIVERSITY LIONS by a score of 86-77    ###    The FAULKNER EAGLES defeated the (13) WILLIAM CAREY CRUSADERS 91-82    ###   Meanwhile the OKLAHOMA PANHANDLE STATE AGGIES knocked off the (21) JOHN BROWN UNIVERSITY GOLDEN EAGLES 85-70 in their own house   ###   And the MONTANA-WESTERN BULLDOGS won a tight 80-79 clash with the (22) ROCKY MOUNTAIN COLLEGE BATTLIN’ BEARS.

LSU-Alexandria GeneralsCENTURY CLUB – Teams scoring 100 points or more in Regulation: The (1) LSU-ALEXANDRIA GENERALS dismembered their guests the UNIVERSITY OF THE SOUTHWEST MUSTANGS to the tune of 119-71    ###    And the MOUNT MERCY UNIVERSITY MUSTANGS put up 106 points to the 81 scored by their visiting opponents, the EVANGEL UNIVERSITY CRUSADERS.

texas college steers logoROAD WARRIORS – The TEXAS COLLEGE STEERS defeated the home-standing PAUL QUINN COLLEGE TIGERS by a score of 73-64    ###    Meanwhile the PARK (MO) UNIVERSITY PIRATES smacked down the SAINT LOUIS COLLEGE OF PHARMACY EUTECTICS 84-59    ###    And the LOYOLA (LA) UNIVERSITY WOLFPACK downed the MIDDLE GEORGIA STATE KNIGHTS by a final tally of 88-77.   

NAIA DIVISION TWO

bethel pilots NEWNUMBER THREE TAKES A FALL – The 17th ranked BETHEL (IN) COLLEGE PILOTS (Riverboat Pilots) played host to the number 3 team in the nation – the SPRING ARBOR UNIVERSITY COUGARS. A 38-30 Halftime lead for the Pilots set up a tense and hard-fought 2nd Half which saw Bethel College emerge with an 85-76 triumph. Trevion Crews led the Pilots with THIRTY-EIGHT points.

corban-warriorsOTHER UPSETS IN THE TOP TWENTY-FIVE – The CORBAN UNIVERSITY WARRIORS took the court against the (10) OREGON TECH HUSTLIN’ OWLS and sent them home suffering from a 90-75 loss    ###    And the THOMAS UNIVERSITY NIGHT HAWKS won a 71-70 Instant Classic on the road against the (20) SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY FIRE.

Rio Grande Red Storm Big OCENTURY CLUB – The UNIVERSITY OF RIO GRANDE (OH) RED STORM downed the CARLOW UNIVERSITY CELTICS by a score of 101-72    ###    The SAINT ANDREWS UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS defeated the POINT UNIVERSITY SKYHAWKS 106-88    ###    And the MULTNOMAH UNIVERSITY LIONS won a 112-105 road game against the EASTERN OREGON UNIVERSITY MOUNTAINEERS. 

Northwestern Ohio RacersA DOUBLE SHOT OF THAT OT LOVE – The UNIVERSITY OF NORTHWESTERN OHIO RACERS took it on the road against the LOURDES UNIVERSITY GRAY WOLVES in a battle of cool-named teams. The Gray Wolves held a 35-32 edge at the break but the Racers came roaring back to force Overtime with a 70-70 tie. The 1st OT ended in an 81-81 deadlock but in the 2nd OT UNOH won it 99-90. Willis Mackey, Jr led the Racers with a Double Double of THIRTY points and 18 rebounds. 

Ottawa University Braves logoWORKIN’ OVERTIME – Other OT games yesterday: The OTTAWA UNIVERSITY BRAVES won a 104-103 game for the ages at the MCPHERSON COLLEGE BULLDOGS (Should be the Mastiffs)    ###   Meanwhile the HOLY CROSS (IN) SAINTS defeated the SAINT FRANCIS (IL) FIGHTING SAINTS 77-76    ###    And the (18) MONTREAT CAVALIERS downed their hosts the BLUEFIELD RAMBLING RAMS 78-71.
