Everyone knows that LASER stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emissions of Radiation so since this story is about the Lasell College Lasers that headline was impossible to resist. This past weekend the Lasers were the host school for the 2010 Cross Country President‘s Cup. On the women’s side the Lesley Lynx were the winners with a perfect score of 15. The Lasers were in 2nd place with a score of 53 and the Newbury Nighthawks came in last with 83 points. “Mega” Meghan Missett was the top finisher for the Lasers with a time of 22:45 on the 1.3 mile course. Amanda “A-Dris” Driscoll clocked in at 24:16 on the course with Christina “The Cat” Annicelli placing third among the Lasell squad.
On the men’s side the results were identical, with the Lynx taking 1st place with a score of 29, the Lasers running a close 2nd with a 37 score and the Nighthawks in last place with a score of 56. The Lasers had 4 top 10 finishers in the event. Miguel “Tornado” Taveras was the top Lasell runner on the men’s side with a time of 18:26 on the 5K course, Patrick “The Franklin Flash” Slight was close behind at 18:57 . Raymon ”Racer X” Donis and Kris “K-Mac” McCabe rounded out the Lasers’ Top 10 finishers with times of 20:17 and 20:42 respectively. The men’s and women’s cross-country teams at Lasell will next be in action on Saturday, Sept 11th in the Roger Williams Invitational at Colt State Park in Bristol, RI.
